3rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

– Futures in Education Children’s Scholarship Fund for 2020-2021 application process has commenced. Tuition assistance is available for students in grades K to 8, who attend a Brooklyn & Queens Catholic School or Academy or those who are interested in attending in September 2020. Please see the bulletin for further information.

 

-Anyone in need of their 2019 Contribution -Statement for Tax purposes should call the Parish Office to request one.

 

-BOXED SETS OF ENVELOPES for 2020 are now available for pick at the back of the
church. The staff asks that a member of each family kindly pick up their
2020 Contribution Envelopes Please verify that you have the correct box of envelopes,
name and envelope number are highlighted. Please note that collection envelopes are
not mailed. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and may God bless you

– The 2020 Mass book, Candles and Bread & Wine books are open for Holy Family- St. Laurence R.C. Parish at both worship sites. Please come to the Parish Offices during regular working hours to request a Mass Intention. No intentions can be taken over the telephone, and each intentionmust be accompanied by the stipend.

-LAURENCIAN GUILD OF ST. LAURENCE WORSHIP SITE VALENTINE’S DAY 50/50 RAFFLE. One Winner will win Half of the cumulative Cash jackpot the Other Half will go to the Parish. Tickets are $2.00 each. Tickets will be sold from Saturday January 25th, drawing will be held on Sunday February 16th following the 12PM Mass

-Holy Family-St. Laurence R.C. Parish invites you to the 4th Annual Mass/Celebration in honor of “Our Lady of Altagracia” Patroness of the Dominican Republic, tomorrow
January 26th @ 12pm at St. Laurence Worship Site, refreshments to follow. Please join us as we celebrate faith, culture and fellowship.

-Open House & New Student Registration at Our Lady of Trust Catholic Academy. The school is located at 1696 Canarsie Road and serves children grade Pre-K 3 to Grade 8th8. Scholarships are available. The open house scheduled for Monday 8:30am to 11:30am. For more info and evening tours please call 1-718-241-6633.

-Carry Your Candle (The Feast of the Presentation of Lord) hosted by the Haitian Community from Wednesday January 29th, 2020 to Sunday February 2nd, 2020 starting at 7pm. The Theme is “Be the Source of Light of the World,” (Cite Reference Mathew 5:14). This event will be in Creole. There is a package of $25 will include a T-Shirt, a book and a candle. Special guests are Fr. Jean G. Laguerre from Precious Blood Parish (Astoria, Queens), Fr. Reginald Jean-Mary from Notre Dame, (Miami, Florida), Ludwine Joseph from Our Lady of Miracles (Brooklyn, NY) and very own
Fr. Yvon Hector-Aurelien. ** 9:30 AM MASS

-WHY CATHOLIC? Lenten Groups Sign-Up will take place at all of the February 1st weekend Masses. We will begin our second year of Why Catholic?. Our theme last year was PRAYER. This year’s theme of study is BELIEVE. Please consider leading or joining existing groups in English or Spanish. There are Haitian Creole groups at the Holy Family worship site.

-Holy Family-St. Laurence RC Parish invites everyone to its annual Black History Mass on Sunday February 9th at the 9:30 am Mass. This year’s celebrant is Father Bryan D. Patterson, Rector of St. James Cathedral-Basilica.

-The Altagracia Committee of St. Laurence Worship Site will sponsor a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale on Sunday February 16th following each Mass. Cupcakes, Cakes, Coffee, Hot Chocolate & many Valentine’s Treats.

 140th Anniversary of Holy Family Worship Site on Sunday April 26th, 2020. Anniversary Mass celebrate at 12:45pm. Reception dinner to follow at 3pm at Immaculate Conception Dinner. Tickets cost $130 per person for children and adults. There will be an insert in this week bulletin if you want a Journal Ads in the 140th Anniversary Book.

VIRTUS TRAINING IN SPANISH Sunday December 15 @ 3PM St. Laurence Worship Site

Employees and all volunteers (this includes all Lectors, Eucharist Ministers,
Choir etc..) who have unsupervised, ongoing access to minors or vulnerable adults are required to attend. This program will teach you how to help prevent child sexual
abuse. Protecting God’s Children was written and developed by Virtus a programdeveloped by the National Catholic Risk Retention Group. A background check will be
done on each person. Signup sheets in English & Spanish are available in the Church vestibules.

 

Training date for VIRTUS in Spanish will be on Sunday December 15 from
3 pm – 7pm at St. Laurence Worship Site.

All Saints-All Soul’s Schedule

–ALL SAINTS’ DAY is a Holy Day of obligation.
We will celebrate Mass at 9:00 AM and an evening Mass at 7:30 PM. (Friday November 1st). ALL PARISHIONERS SHOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO ATTEND THE MASS.

–ALL SOULS’ DAY: Each year we celebrate a Mass on All Souls’ Day remembering all the faithful departed and especially those who were buried from
St. Laurence Worship Site in the past year. The All Souls’ Novena consists of nine days of Masses. To enroll a loved one in this Novena, please use the special All Souls’ Day envelopes provided in your envelope box or in the foyer of the Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM, all those buried from this parish during the past year will have their names called during the Mass on All Souls’ Day (Saturday, November 2nd).
ALL PARISHIONERS SHOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO ATTEND AS MANY OF THE NOVENA MASSES AS POSSIBLE.
